Happiness!

Something has come over me this week, and I'm suddenly extremely excited again about my life! And as a pleasant side effect, I've been making really good decisions. Decisions about things that are changing everything about my future in a REALLY good way. I have that kind of excitement right now that makes me highly uninterested in sleeping, and yet I know if I don't go to sleep soon tomorrow may be spent with dark circles and a dull headache.

One of the several new developments is that I started working tonight on watercolor illustrations for a children's book that I've wanted to do for a couple of years. When I go to the bookstore I often end up reading things like "Don't Let the Pigeon Drive the Bus" in the children's section, instead of sitting at the other end of the store and drinking coffee with the rest of the big kids.

I have zero training as an illustrator, but as the above book has shown me, I don't necessarily have to be the da Vinci of children's books to make something that brings humor and happiness to both 5-year-olds AND 23-year-olds. So I'm going to take a crack at it! Should be a fun side-venture for me while I continue with my more Serious Art. I'll let you know how it goes! :) Nat

P.S. This blog is about art, and not my religion. But because of the effect my religion is having on my artistic life, and the general wonderfulness I am experiencing more and more, I feel obliged to share with you what has generated this change: www.Scientology.com. (The website itself has not changed my life, but if you're interested you can find out more about the thing that has.) :D
